Our meeting on the 15th September received a talk from John Polley entitled “ London’s New River”.
This was a fascinating presentation from an excellent speaker who explained how the need for a new drinking water supply for London in the 17th century gradually developed over time and became effectively a new river for London.
John’s in depth knowledge and lavishly illustrated presentation was well received.
