Our speaker this week was Brian Wills-Pope, one of the Deputy Lieutenants for Devon.
Brian arrived in full uniform for our meeting which gave it some added importance to our gathering. Brian gave a very interesting illustrated talk about how the Lieutenancy in Devon is organised with the Lord Lieutenant and Vice Lord Lieutenant at the head who are supported by about 40 Deputy Lieutenants.
The honours system was explained and members were pleased to hear that Peter Hoskin is soon to be presented with his well deserved British Empire Medal.
