Our talk this week was presented by our club member Phil Evans and entitled “Civil Engineering.”
Phil gave a very interesting introduction to his subject telling us something about the origin of civil engineering in that it was engineering that did not have a military purpose. He then explained its development to modern times.
He also spent some time explaining civil engineering using his own career as a chartered civil engineer working throughout the UK.
This was an interesting and informative talk that was thoroughly enjoyed by the membership.
This week’s meeting had added interest when member Peter Hoskins showed his recently presented BEM to members.
