Report by Paul Young, our Speaker Finder (with Photos by Tony Taft)
The Paignton Probus Club Christmas lunch was held today 8th December at the Redcliffe Hotel and was our last gathering to be held at that venue.
A total of 44 members and guests attended which was very impressive bearing in mind the relatively low numbers we have experienced at our weekly meetings. The Master of Ceremonies was our Vice Chairman Phil Evans, Colin Small said Grace and Paul Young proposed the Loyal Toast. Our Chairman Roy Matthews spoke after the lunch following which a raffle draw was held for what was a considerable number of prizes.
The Chairman reminded those present that our President Barry Ross was absent due to hospital treatment but we were delighted that his wife Iris was able to attend. He also acknowledged the award of the British Empire Medal to Peter Hosking.
All those present looked forward to the first meeting of 2022 taking place on the 12th January at the Paignton Club.:-
