In order to form our own opinions, it is important to be able to access varying points of view on any particular subject. In so many cases the media seem hell bent on only allowing the most dramatic viewpoints on such subjects as Global Warming to be aired. It is rare though that you might be able to read an article or hear a report that whilst accepting Global Warming points out the upside.
We are all probably aware that many of the arid deserts of the world were once verdant forests and, in some cases, managed by humans to grow crops. Will the increased levels of rainfall affecting these areas plus the increased levels of carbon dioxide, an essential plant food, allow these areas to “regreen”? Whilst we are threatened with sea level rises, they would still be far lower when compared with historic levels. How are some of the poorest areas of the world benefiting from increased productivity and even obtaining several crops from the land in the same year that once struggled to even grow one crop? It was not that long ago that the worlds population was 3BN and we were said to have struggled to feed them, yet we are now feeding 7BN only made possible by increased productivity from the land we farm but how.
