Update on Tony’s Shed

I’m sure you are all dying to know how I coped with my shed, damaged by Storm Eunice last Friday.
Well this morning our regular window cleaners arrived (to clean the windows?) and for a small bribe together with the promise of tea and chocolate biscuits agreed to put the shed upright for me.

Quick as a flash they did that and I managed to grab my phone and get a video of the final moments, which you can see below

Storm Eunice & Tony’s Shed

Several years ago I built a shed at the bottom of my garden. It was one of those plastic DIY sheds from B&Q.

Before constructing it I built a nice level paved area against a 3ft stone wall where I knew the shed would be safe from any wind problems.

The instructions said I should bolt the shed down to the ground, but I knew this would be unnecessary as the shed would have a fixed floor panel and by the time I’d put all my gardening equipment (Mower, trimmer, blower, shelving to hold petrol, weedkillers etc) the shed would be too heavy to go anywhere.

In any case, above the stone wall is a beech hedge to provide shelter. No way was the shed going anywhere.

Yesterday morning (Friday) came, along with Eunice, and when I got around to looking out of the window, what did I see?

Unbelievable! What about all the stuff inside the shed? Has the base of the shed been left behind?

Time go round to the other side:

Yeek!

The base is still attached and the door is still locked… How on earth could it have been lifted up and then dropped in this manner?

It’s too heavy for me to lift on my own so I’ll just have to wait till the next time the gardener comes to cut the grass and see if we can move it back.

Does anyone else have a story to tell Storm Eunice?
