Chris Phillips gave us an excellent illustrated talk entitled “Steamers of the River Dart and beyond”
Chris has been involved for many years been in the Trust which is organising the restoration of Kingswear Castle, a paddle steamer which has cruised the River Dart in recent years but which is in sore need of a major restoration.
The talk also covered a history of paddle steamers generally and particularly on the river Dart.
The talk was illustrated with historic photographs and was well received by members.
The meeting was attended by 28 members
