Paul Young, our Speaker Finder reports:-
Our speaker this week was Christopher Lunn who presented his talk called “A View from the Convent”. The title was designed to keep us guessing and it certainly did that!
Christopher was a career Army Officer who spent some time as the military advisor to the Governor of Gibraltar. His office was in a building that had, in the past, been a Convent, hence the title of the talk. Christopher, who is a Probus member, explained the history of Gibraltar from pre-history to modern times but gave some focus towards the end on the killing of three IRA terrorists by the SAS. The IRA had planned to explode a bomb, the target of which was the Royal Anglian Regiment assembling for a parade. Three SAS soldiers successfully tracked them and killed them.
This was probably one of our best talks for some considerable time presented by an excellent speaker.

Congratulations on creating this Emailpost.
Thanks Martin, we look forward to meeting with you soon. Tony
