Our speaker this week was Chris Coote who gave a talk entitled “Concorde – Reminisces of a Fast Lady”.
Our Speaker Finder Paul Young reports:-
Chris is a highly qualified and experienced engineer who was involved in the design and development of Concorde. He is also a member of the Brixham Probus Club. Chris explained some of the challenges faced by engineers in designing and building Concorde.
Whilst detailed and informative Chris also reflected on numerous funny experiences. He also explained how Concorde was used to test the ability of military jets, both British and American, to intercept a fast flying enemy only to find that Concorde was so fast it could not be caught.
This was an outstanding and fascinating presentation which was thoroughly enjoyed by all those present.
