As part of our drive to increase membership we have created a presence on Facebook. As a first step we are inviting people who know a soon to be or recently retired man with time on his hands who enjoys conversation, talks, social outings and meeting like-minded individuals; that there is a warm welcome awaiting him at Paignton Probus Club.
This invite has been posted on to the What’s On In Paignton, Facebook Group. The group has 8500 followers and is used by social groups, charities, businesses and individuals to promote and publicise events and organisations. Our posts are being spotted, shared and “liked” by potential members and by their family members and friends who in turn share the invitation, as a result we’ve had enquiries and guest visits to meetings.
In order to generate and maintain interest in Paignton Probus it’s important that we have as many members as possible join our Probus Paignton Club, Facebook Group, this enables us to share our events and activities to a wider audience and in turn attract new members and
Membership fees!
Can I ask those of you who are not Facebook users to enrol and create your own Facebook account and in turn join the Paignton Probus Club Group. Below is a how to create a Facebook account and a link to our Group page. For those unfamiliar with Facebook I’m sure you will have family members and friends who will be happy to help create your account and your privacy settings.
To create a Facebook account:
- Go to facebook.com and click Create new account.
- Enter your name, email address or mobile phone number, password, date of birth and gender.
- Click Sign Up.
- To finish creating your account, you need to confirm your email address or mobile phone number.
