Simon Dell “Lundy – A Landmark 50 Years”

Simon Dell MBE is one of the most sought-after public speakers in the county with talks on a range of themes from his vast historical knowledge of Dartmoor and Lundy as well as locations across the globe
Simon held his audience captivated with his detailed and often humourous account of the history of Lundy Island from its discovery by the Vikings and how its name is derived from their name of the island which is Viking for Island of puffins.
A fascinating series of photos showed the island in all its glory and he explaind how it was privately owned until 1968 when it was bought by the National Trust and since then managed by the Landmark Trust.

For details on how you can visit Lundy yourself see Simon’s website page by clicking here
