“The Origin and Work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission”

Today we had a presentation by Mark Bailey who talked about the origin and work of the commission in carrying out its charter to commemorate in perpetuity the commonwealth war dead of the first and second world wars.
Mark gave us a good visual presentation showing us pictures of military cemeteries around the world, also the different styles of headstones in these cemeteries.
Many questions were asked at the end of Marks presentation which was an indication of the interest among the club members.
Mark lives in Bovey Tracy and is also an author but nothing was said about his books.
