Today’s talk was by Roger Hamilton on the rainforests of the world.
Considering Roger was booked at short notice, his talk about the flora and fauna of the rainforest was superb,
Roger has only visited a rainforest in Poland but has gained his considerable knowledge by going on a virtual tour of the rainforest’s around the world.
Roger’s visual presentation was mainly centred on the many flowers and trees that are found there, also the animals that call the rainforest their home
He talked about the deforestation caused by illegal felling of trees and burning the forest to raise cattle. He said it could take thousands of years for the forest to recover.
His talk was so informative that we ran out of time so the question and answer session had to be called off.
