Our speaker today was the very popular Brenda Loosemore a big hit wherever she talks.
Brenda’s talk was entitled Murder Mystery and Mayhem.
At one time Brenda was a guide at Greenway house and later Coleton Fishacre, she has been an actor for sixty years and still loves acting today.
Brenda now works for Moonstone Theatre Company who produce murder mystery plays all over the region, their next production will be at the Palace Hotel, she told us that her favourite role is that of the murderer and sometimes the body, she said she likes playing the body because she only has to learn the script for half the play but gets full pay at the end.
The murder weapon has to be something more inventive than a knife or a gun, one of her props was a glass ball in a cloth bag this makes a great weapon and polished the victim off with great effect.
The great thing about Brenda’s presentation is the way she adds comedy to her talk you can clearly see the actor coming out as she reminisces about her life and you can see that she finds it as much fun today, with no intention of giving it up yet.
Our members were totally fascinated by Brenda’s talk and were keen to ask many questions at the end.
This was a meeting well worth getting a soaking in the awful weather to see such a popular speaker and hope it is not too long before we can welcome Brenda back to our club again.
